For its second adidas Kegler Super collaboration, UK retailer size? looks beyond the heritage silhouette’s bowling origins to seek something additional.
In this instance, they’re inspired by track & field sprinters and the shoes they wore to achieve greatness.
size? x adidas Kegler Super “Running Spike”Originally released in 1979 for the German indoor bowling sport Kegeln, the Kegler Super is seen here in a glowing lime green with black accents seen at the lateral siding, heel counter, and tongue branding. Suede covers the low-cut style and the toecap which appears in tan.
The shoe finds much of its inspiration in the earliest moments of Dassler Brothers LTD produced track spikes for the 1936 Berlin Olympics. It was during that year that Jesse Owens won four gold medals in track & field, popularizing the vintage track spike that drives the creative thought behind this collaboration.
