Do you remember the late ?90s? Three years before the turn of the century, Hip Hop, specifically New York/East Coast rap, was in a very good place. A relative newcomer named?Jay-Z was buzzing after his album release, Notorious B.I.G dropped a classic double-disc, Wu-Tang Clan ran the streets, and Lord Tariq and Peter Gunz laid claim to the foundation of the genre. Inspired by the release of the adidas Real Deal, which originally dropped in 1997, Slam Magazine and BAU created the Real Deal (97) mixtape by Frank the Butcher and DJ 7L.
