Each shoe also hit shelves and sold out quickly when they were released. Air Jordan 7 “Miro”
In 1998, the Air Jordan 7 “Miro” released in limited quantities. The shoe is still the object of desire for many sneaker enthusiasts, but many don’t know the actual story behind the shoe’s nickname. Yes, it was inspired by the colors of the Olympic games, but dig a bit deeper and you will find that Spanish aritist Joan Miró was also honored by the painted motif. Miró died months before Michael Jordan and his USA team took the gold medal at the 1984 Olympics. Jordan laced up the Air Jordan 7 during his second gold medal run with the 1992 Dream Team in Miró’s hometown of Barcelona. As a nod to both legends, the special edition Air Jordan 7 was born.
