Ahead of the long desired Air Jordan 3 “Katrina” global release next month on May 12, Louisiana-based retailer Sneaker Politics is debuting the shoe a little early at a block party in the city the shoe was produced to aid.

The party, which will be hosted in collaboration with Jordan Brand, takes place this weekend on April 28 from 11am to 1pm CST. A physical destination has not been disclosed.

The shoe was originally produced back in 2006 after Hurricane Katrina devastated the Gulf Coast a year earlier. Louisiana, by all accounts, was in the eye of the storm. Jordan Brand auctioned off the Air Jordan 3 “Katrina” to help aid in relief efforts. Thus, this exclusive release in New Orleans with Sneaker Politics is aligned to the shoe’s original purpose.

Sneaker Politics has stated they will release more details later this week regarding the excitable block party. Stay tuned.
