adidas Originals is celebrating the adidas Superstar in a big way to close out the year and into the next one. The revolutionary basketball shoe debuted in 1969 and was the go-to shoe for hoopers for most of the 1970s with a durable leather upper, indestructible shell toe, and game changing herringbone patterned rubber cup sole.
Taking things back to original form, adidas will be releasing a limited run of pairs constructed by Ateliers Heschung – a family run factory who manufactured shoes for adidas France in the 1970s – to create a special “Made in France” edition that is true to the original shoe in every way. The limited run of adidas Superstars will release at just a handful of select adidas Consortium doors on December 12, 2014. Check out more photos below of the “Made in France” adidas Superstars.
