words // Nick DePaula:
The Qasa II Low is one of my very favorite sneakers of 2015.
I like black and grey a ton, and after picking up a pair back in February, I’ve been routinely wearing them around on a weekly basis for trips to the grocery store, out to dinner and everywhere in between. They’re ignorantly comfortable — just slip on and go.
Building on the strength of the Y-3 Qasa franchise, the laceless update to the beloved platform features a mix of neoprene, elastic and primeknit in a cleverly constructed package.
Designed by Aurelien Longo, with creative direction help from Nic Galway and Chris Jury, the Qasa II Low is a great representation of the wearable and forward-thinking executions coming from the Y-3 group.
Check out Aurelien’s exploration and progress artwork below, initially featuring a more contrasting EVA wrap through the heel, in our latest Sneaker Sketch of the Week.
