After last year’s sold-out 4/20 release of the South Park x adidas Campus 80s “Towelie,” it was clear that people wanted more from the mischievous characters of South Park. Less than a year later and the Comedy Central show is back with an extended South Park x adidas Collection. The collaboration features some of the show’s most iconic characters including Cartman, Kyle, Stan, Kenny, Professor Chaos, and even A.W.E.S.O.M.-O 4000.
Everyone’s favorite frenemy Cartman gets his very own adidas Forum Low. The sneaker takes after Cartman’s signature fit with red, yellow, and blue color-blocking. The 80s basketball trainer has a red leather upper with yellow accents on the laces, mudguard, tongue tag, and adidas Trefoil. Blue details appear on the heel counter, sock liner, and lace strap.
It would drive Cartman crazy to know that Kyle got to appear on the most iconic Three-Stripes silhouette of them all, the adidas Superstar. This sneaker takes after Kyle’s likeness with a green leather upper, fuzzy lime stripes, and orange tongue.
Stan Marsh and Stan Smith come together for the ultimate Stan showdown. The adidas Tennis shoe takes after Stan’s signature beanie. The all-blue upper is made with smooth leather and a red suede trim, finished with a white midsole. This sneaker is made with a series of recycled materials, with at least 50% of recycled content.
In loving memory of Kenny, the immortal icon appears on the adidas NMD_R1. This sneaker has a bright orange upper that mimics his iconic parka, with the fuzzy interior popping out just like the lining of his hood. The lateral EVA plug on the forefoot is stamped with “OMGTKK,” which is a nod to the frequently heard phrase, “Oh my God! They killed Kenny!”
For better or for worse, Butters is always around, but sometimes we get to see him as his alter ego, Professor Chaos. The adidas NMD R1 V2 takes inspiration from Professor Chaos’ mask with silver foil accents on the heel tab and the adidas Three-Stripes. Elsewhere the sneaker is covered in aqua blue knit, the color of Butters’ shirt.
Back for vengeance is A.W.E.S.O.M.-O 4000, also known as Cartman in disguise. Just as Cartman’s signature pair, A.W.E.S.O.M.-O 4000 gets his own adidas Forum Low. His look inspires the sneakers with silver pops throughout, eyes and mouth graphics, a paper-like texture, and curly spring laces.
