Even though LeBron James is insanely busy dealing with Steph Curry and the Golden State Warriors in the 2015 NBA Finals, he kept a promise he made to a special kid who just so happens to be pretty nice with words. 2015 Scripps National Spelling Bee co-champion, Gokul Venkatachalam, is a massive LeBron and Cavs fan. And when he lit up the national stage – with LeBron’s jersey on underneath his button-down – James caught wind of his intellectual heroics and sent out a few special gifts for Venkatachalam.
After returning home following a lengthy media tour, Gokul would find a wealth of gifts at his residence, all from LeBron James. Aside from Cavs gear, BEATS headphones and more, Gokul was gifted two pairs of sneakers. The first pair is an unreleased iteration of the Nike LeBron 11 Elite PE. He’d also get his hands on the Nike LeBron 12 “All-Star” with an autograph from James along with a congratulatory message on his Spelling Bee victory. Hopefully the next time we see this wordy young sneakerhead he’ll be rocking one of these fresh pair of LeBrons.
