Amsterdam-based footwear design company Studio Hagel has worked with the likes of OFF-WHITE and Takashi Murakami and they’ve just announced that they’re launching their independent sneaker brand, HAGEL.

“HAGEL represents the purest designs from our studio,” says Studio Hagel founder Mathieu Hagelaars. “With HAGEL we have complete freedom in the creative process – it’s a playground where we can do whatever we want.”

For their first ever launch, Studio Hagel introduces The Hagel Shroud. Dropping a teaser editorial online, we can make out an orange upper with a shroud that’s secured by a bungee cord. A white midsole is featured with grey hits and an exaggerated heel counter that extends down into the grey outsole. This limited edition “Mango” colorway comes packaged in a “puff bag” that protects the sneakers and can also be used as a belt bag.

“The design process is an experiment, an ongoing exploration of ideas,” said Mathieu Hagelaars. “The Shroud is both a result of this process and the start of a new chain of thoughts.”

The HAGEL Shroud drops on February 21, 2022. The retail price is set at €450 (approx. $509 USD). To purchase, visit the HAGEL webstore.
