Stüssy and Nike are teaming up once again — this time with a basketball legend as the Nike Air Bakin will be the next collaborative silhouette for the streetwear brand & the Swoosh.

Previewed in Stüssy’s Spring 2023 lookbook, the California-based brand teased a new colorway of the Air Bakin as well as other colorways of Nike models such as an Air Tuned Max and Air Max Goadome, indicating that a collaboration is in the works. However, the Stüssy x Nike Air Bakin has not been confirmed by either party.

The potential Stüssy x Nike Air Bakin collaboration adds to the silhouette’s legendary status as the model is set to also receive a collection with a New York staple as a Supreme x Nike Air Bakin is in the works for this summer.

The Nike Air Bakin was released & recalled in 1997 due to the Nike Air logo on the back of the heel resembling the Arabic spelling of ‘Allah’ which Nike reformatted the heel font to the Nike Air logo with the release of the 2007 and 2013 retro editions.

Worn by Tim Hardaway and Carmelo Anthony, the Nike Air Bakin has always been revered as a cult classic. Stüssy now adds to the silhouette’s already prolific status with the potential collab in a sail, orange, and black color combination.

We anticipate the Stüssy x Nike Air Bakin to release on Stussy.com, Stüssy chapters, SNKRS, and select retailers in the upcoming months.
