Nike SB, Skateboarding, started off in 2002 so Nike can compete against other skateboarding brands such as DVS, DC, Globe, and Vans. It started off with just the Dunk models, and later on Nike signed Paul Rodriguez (P-Rod) with his own signature shoe. Also in 2005, Nike introduced the Blazer SB, a revamp of the 1970’s model with Zoom Air insoles.
Nike SB is very popular because of the exclusiveness to only skateshops and their collaborations. These collaborations include MF Doom, De La Soul, Pee Wee Herman, Vanilla Ice, Tiffany Diamonds, and the mash-up of all of the Nike Dunk SB lows with the “What The Dunk.”
