Some may not be old enough to remember just how good Grant Hill was. He was an All Star as a rookie, and a part of the gold medal winning Dream Team 2 squad. In his early years, Hill was thought to be well on his way to being an all-time great. Unfortunately, injuries derailed his career for a while, but not before his signature line put out some of the best kicks Fila has ever produced. The Fila Ninety6 were so dope that the immortal Tupac was captured in them in a timeless picture. That particular picture is what tied Teyana Taylor to the shoe for life. Take a look at what TT has to say about one of her favorite shoes in the latest installment of Teyana?s Take. What are your memories of the Fila Ninety6?

Teyana’s Take: Fila Ninety6 (Grant Hill 2)“The earliest recollection I have of my love for the Fila Ninety6 (or GH2) is an image of the late Tupac Shakur thugging out a pair. He had his foot turned to the side and laces slightly loosened, while throwing up the peace sign sitting in front of a throwback whip. That?s a classic visual that sticks out in my mind. He wore them white joints with the shiny navy blue patent leather piping flowing around the side. I love that stripe! One word Bananas! Can?t forget that the red, white, and blue triangle branding was flamey, too. Brooklyn used to call these joints ?LA?s (as in Fila). It’s crazy that some of my favorite kicks came out in 1995. I was only four years old then.”
