ASICS is working with luxury materials in their latest release, adoring its time-honored Gel Lyte III is vegetable tanned leather. This, however, is nothing new in the world of sneakers. Vegetable tanned leather is most widely known in the luxury realm by way of Hender Scheme – although their shoes feature wooden soles. ASICS maintains their foundational GEL cushioning underneath an entirely leather constructed upper, ensuring that while opulence engulfs the base comfort still remains a focal point down below. But with premium products comes a premium price, which is why the ASICS Gel Lyte III Vegetable Tanned Leather retails for $500.
