The Best Valentine's Day Sneakers

Cupid strikes again as the mischievous, amorous angel has us in our feels for yet another Valentine’s Day.

Whether you love it or hate it, there’s something undeniably captivating about the passionate holiday with its rich chocolates, luxurious textures, and feverish color palette. Over the years, sneakers have become a staple for the holiday as the sneaker industry delivers an abundance of Valentine’s Day sneakers each year.

It all started with a Nike Air Max 95 that released in 2001. While this sneaker wasn’t an official Valentine’s Day exclusive, this AM95 did carve the path for sweetheart-inspired colorways with its monochrome red upper and Air Max heart icon on the tongue.

It wasn’t until 2004 that Nike would launch their first official Valentine’s Day sneaker, a Nike Air Force 1 Low. The sneaker was adorned with shiny patent leather and featured a red heart detail on the heel counter to match the bright red Swoosh and matching outsole.

Since then, the sneaker companies have continued to show their love for Valentine’s Day with heartfelt designs that capture the essence of the holiday. From fiery shades of red to sweet pink hues, Valentine’s Day sneakers have become a highly-anticipated annual event for the most serious of sneakerheads and the most inseparable sole-mates.
