Most custom sneakers involve a painstakingly detailed process of applying paint and graphics to an already existing upper. A far less often seen execution that makes for a clean and subtle twist can be found when a vision is simply created in part thanks to NIKEiD.
That’s what Farag Abdelsalam did when he created these “Air Apparent” Kobe V customs. Created long ago on NIKEiD, the black-based uppers are quickly reminiscent of the iconic Air Jordan XI. Rather than just mirror the Black / Red and Space Jam colorways, each pair also features a custom “Black Mamba” woven label atop the tongue, and a “24” custom screen print along the heel in classic XI font.
