If you haven’t worn, run in or simply seen the adidas Ultra Boost, you are missing out on one of the best new sneakers of 2015. Its foundational colorway featured a proper blend of black, purple and white tones that fuse throughout its knitted base. But what if adidas released a tonal black pair? Well, that hasn’t happened. And as far as we know, it’s not in the plans.

Although, that didn’t stop C2 Customs designer Chris Hui – who also happens to be an adidas employee – from formulating a sleek black pair sans the silhouettes molded TPU support cage and Three Stripes branding. Hui also darkened the Boost midsole to match the tonal black knitted base, offering an even cleaner look to the conceptual design. Maybe he should toss this idea to the higher-ups in his office. Certainly couldn’t hurt.
