Twenty-two years ago today, #23 put up 35 in the first half of Game 1. Twenty-two years ago, MJ responded in a way that would forever be remembered.
While MJ and the Chicago Bulls were favored over the Portland Trail Blazers in the 1992 NBA Finals, few would have anticipated such a lopsided first half of Game 1. Out of the gate, Michael Jordan was charging ahead with 6 three-pointers. The man just couldn’t miss. In disbelief as a viewer (a seven year old kid watching on an 18″ TV in Fresno, CA), I too could relate to MJ’s shrug. What was I watching? How could anyone be on fire like that? Was it the shoes?! Oh yeah, the important part – Air Jordan 7s on his feet.
