Black Toe? Check. Black Tongue???
When the “Black Toe” resurfaced back in 2013, the shoe was met with wide acceptance from a welcoming sneaker community. For many, it was the first time they’d seen the shoe on shelves or filling the digital space of online retailers. But even in carrying the OG moniker, they weren’t quite like MJ’s pairs from 1985.
Now, this may not matter to many, but Jordan’s original “Black Toe” 1’s came equipped with a black tongue. As mentioned above, the 2013 pair and this weekend’s pair come with a white tongue. Nonetheless, modern-day remastered Jordan 1’s are just that, masterful. Saturday’s release won’t be a let down in any shape or fashion. But it would be interesting one day for Jordan Brand to release the “Black Toe” with a matching black tongue.
