As we promised yesterday when we gave you detailed shots of the upcoming Air Jordan 11, we had a very special Throwback Thursday coming. This is the first Throwback Thursday to also incorporate a retro comparison.
No matter what shoes return for another round, there will always be differences minute or massive, but on the upcoming pair of “Playoff” Air Jordan 11’s, make up just a short list. The most noticeable difference on the shoes is the direction that the Jumpman logo is facing on the heel of the left shoe. On the 2001 retro, the Jumpman faces towards the front of the shoe while on the 2008 CDP retro, the Jumpman stays in its original form facing to the right.
Some other differences we noticed was a stiffer leather was used around the heel providing the shoe with more shape after a few wearings and slightly less padding around the ankle and on the tongue. Lastly, the “JUMPMAN JORDAN” tags are slightly different and the laces on the ’08 Jordan 11s are slightly thinner in diameter than that of the ’01 retro. Overall, the 2008 CDP retro Jordan 11 has a more defined shape than the 2001 retro, but overall few will notice any differences.
Have a look after the break of both the 2001 retro Air Jordan 11 and the 2008 CDP retro. |
