During the conception of the Air Jordan 14, famed designer Tinker Hatfield derived inspiration from Michael Jordan’s Ferrari 550m. Building upon the angular and lower-cut structure of the sports car, the Air Jordan 14 became a sleek and innovative silhouette to an already versatile Air Jordan lineage. With the Ferrari 550m being Tinker’s muse, the Air Jordan 14 began to take on some of its features. For starters, the Air Jordan branding badges on the 14 resembles the Ferrari crests on the 550m. Also, the midsole drew direct inspiration from the grill of the 550m and the heel of the Air Jordan 14 was made to resemble a high-performance tire.
