A Second MVP Campaign
Before the 1991 NBA Playoffs began and the Chicago Bulls steamrolled their way through, Michael made a mockery of the competition during the regular season. On the way to his second of five MVP trophies, he would average 31.5 points shooting a career-high 54 percent from the field. He also pulled down 6 rebounds per contest while dishing out 5.5 assists. Jordan would make yet another NBA All-Star Game and be named to the All-NBA First Team.
Jordan would debut the Air Jordan 6 Black/Infrared during the All-Star Game. Afterwards he’d wear the White/Infrared pair through the remainder of the regular season. For the playoffs he would switch back to the black pair. Michael wouldn’t begin to wear the favored “Carmine” pair until the start of the 1991-92 season.
