Championship Gold
The 1991 NBA Playoffs saw Jordan and the Bulls enter the postseason as the Eastern Conference No. 1 seed. They cruised past the New York Knicks in the first round in a 3-0 sweep. They’d also ease by the Philadelphia 76ers 4-1 in the semifinals. Then, when pinned against the rivaling Detroit Pistons in the Eastern Conference Finals, the Bulls blew past the Isiah Thomas led squad in a sweep, looking ahead to Magic Johnson and the Lakers in the NBA Finals.
Jordan would largely wear the Black/Infrared 6’s throughout the Finals, where his Chicago Bulls put the Lakers away quickly four games to one. He would be named MVP of the series and hoist the coveted Larry O’Brien trophy for the first time, bringing the Air Jordan 6 Pinnacle release this weekend full circle.
Now 25 years in the past, give Jordan’s 1991 Finals performance a look below and let us know if you plan to cop a piece of Jordan Brand history this weekend.
