The Second Coming That Never Was
Now a bona-fide star and leading the Timberwolves to the playoffs alongside his new running mate Stephon Marbury, Nike and KG were prime to release the Air Garnett 2 the following year. The shoe, though, never officially released and was ultimately scrapped. KG never wore the model on court. He did continue to thrill in Nike heat like the Air Flightposite in an array of colorways. During the 1998-99 NBA season, Garnett averaged a formidable 20 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists, enough to ensure one of his 15 NBA All-Star appearances.
