Timberland and Foot Locker have partnered together for an exclusive collection called “Boots For Good” which is designed to celebrate change-makers who created their own lanes to positively impact their communities per a press release.
The “Boots For Good” Collection will feature three separate drops, with the first drop available today on the iconic Timberland 6″ Premium Boot in Wheat alongside the founder of DISTINCT LIFE Rick Williams. The boot looks familiar to the naked eye, but it’s crafted with Timberland’s eco-friendly Better leather which sources from silver-rated tanneries for its water, energy, and waste management practices. The Timberland logo which is typically debossed on the heel, is seen with a gold badge.
Williams, a Detroit-based artist and creative, has made it his mission to be a beacon of inspiration for his community through his designs, collabs, and murals. Through the “Boots For Good” Collection, a donation will be made to a Detroit metro area charity that supports underserved communities.
“When you wake up, every day you have the opportunity to inspire people. I have to lead by example so they can then go out and inspire people the same way” – Rick Williams
The second drop of the collection features a red colorway of the 6″ Premium Boot which is set to release on November 23rd and features Dreamville Records VP of Creative Services Felton Brown. The boot takes on a tonal red look, with red nubuck used on the upper and collar and just like the Wheat pair, the Timberland logo is seen on the heel badged in gold.
Brown, an East Flatbush-raised community lead and creative, uses his experience and knowledge to become a board member of Brooklyn Combine, a hub focused on creative pathways for the next generation to follow per the press release. The organization works with schools, city officials, and community organizations to help provide social programs, leadership, and education to youth in low-income and underserved communities. A donation will be made towards Brooklyn Combine through the Timberland “Boots For Good” Collection.
“There’s so many kids in these neighborhoods that feel that these things are so unattainable. If someone didn’t make it real for me, I would’ve never been in this industry.” – Felton Brown
