2017 was an memorable year in sneaker history for a variety of reasons. In terms of Swoosh history, last year was the 35th anniversary of one of its most iconic silhouettes: the Air Force 1. All throughout 2017, we saw a multitude of retros back into the mix as well as new takes on the timeless shoe including the Nike Special Field Air Force 1 High.
If you’re unfamiliar with the SF-AF1, it is a military-inspired shoe ready for any environment. The multi-use shoe went from an all-purpose shoe to a lifestyle must thanks to customizer Ting Meister. By implementing the casual aesthetic from an old pair of jeans and applying it to the SF-AF1, the shoe went from combat ready to fit check ready. The upper is fully in denims with white leather liner inside and hand stitched to the gum/caramel soles.
