words // Darren Griffin:
Though Tinker Hatfield may no longer be designing Jordans and shaping that segment of transcendent footwear, that certainly doesn’t intend that his legendary work with Nike has come to a cease. Equally influential in his timeless efforts on the Air Max series, Tinker continues to redefine air as the corresponding Swoosh holiday draws nearer. Air Max Day will not only play host to a slew of hashtags and Max visibility, but also the all-new Nike Air Max Zero.
Today brings about a first look at the new silhouette designed by the man himself. Incorporating a wealth of lightweight and breathable materials, the base features mesh fabrication alongside synthetic white paneling. A white midsole comes shaped in homage to the Air Max 1 married to a vibrant blue hue gleaming through the visible Air unit. Taking elements of an elder style and blending them with forward sophistication and technology, the Nike Air Max Zero fittingly bridges the gap between the Air Max series past and present. Stay tuned for more release details and Air Max Day on March 26.
