LAIKA, a stop-motion animated film company helmed by Travis Knight, son of recently retired Nike co-founder Phil Knight, is prepping the release of their fourth collaborative shoe in conjunction with their fourth feature film – Kubo and the Two Strings.
The Kubo x Air Jordan 15 is unveiled for the first time today thanks to Nike design legend, Tinker Hatfield.
Hatfield, in an interview with Complex regarding the new release, details that the Air Jordan 15 is his least favorite Air Jordan design. Thus, in utilizing the shoe for this partnership, he reworked the bulky style with sleek zipped construction and a much cleaner inner ankle bootie.
Moreover, the shoe features alternating color blocking in blue and red, an ode to the film and its good vs. evil centralized plot.
Release details for the shoe remain scarce. Yet, those who can achieve a high score on the films official website and their Moon Beast game certainly stand a better chance than others. Stay tuned for more.
