One of the most recognizable collaborations of recent years is rumored to return with a change (or half of one). Talk of a Tom Sachs & Nike Mars Yard follow up has been doing the rounds – now a pair appears. Coming to us via art dealer Bill Powers of Half Gallery, we’ve been teased with the apparent Mars Yard 2.5.

When Tom Sachs first joined up with Nike in 2012, few were expecting the partnership to become legendary. The collaboration has since gained astronomical attention, eventually followed by the Mars Yard 2.0 & Overshoe years later. We’ve been hearing rumors of a Mars Yard 2.0 restock since early this year – could this be the pair discussed?

The latest update has fans split so far, as most pairs worth discussing do. The stand-out aspect of the 2.5s is the addition of a Black rubber toe cap which wraps under the forefoot. The pair also sees a change where the white mesh panels were, moving to a synthetic ripstop material. Adding to the changes are metal eyelets resembling bolts to make this utilitarian edition of Mars Yard seem more durable.

Expected to drop before the year ends, we hope to see an official announcement soon from Tom Sachs or Nike. What are your thoughts on this update? Let us know what you think and how you plan to style them.
