The Zoom Spiridon (in my humble and singular opinion), is one of the greatest footwear designs our industry has ever seen. This is coming from someone that doesn’t at all like large logos, yet I haven’t been able to overlook its awesomeness since its initial 1997 introduction.

One of the first models to introduce Zoom Air to the running world, the Spiridon’s sleek and swift upper flow was offset by a uniquely podular outsole configuration. Under each pod was an explosively responsive Zoom Air unit in strategically placed zones.

While the Spiridon may have been retroed a decade ago in 2005, the metallic foil Swoosh was missing, leaving longtime fans of the model wanting more ever since. Luckily, NikeLab just launched the cult classic again this morning stateside, and all throughout Europe over the weekend. The true-to-form Retro in its iconic launch colorway has Spiridon fans satisfied, with every last detail nailed, even the metallic foil Swoosh.

In our latest edition of Top Shelf, take a detailed look at an original 1997 pair of the Air Zoom Spiridon. Are you excited to see the Retro runner re-release?
