Atlanta Hawks point guard Trae Young celebrated his 24th birthday by sharing photos of his latest signature shoe, the adidas Trae 2. The reveal comes after months of leaked images circulating around social media.
As the successor to his first signature shoe, the adidas Trae 2 provides performance enhancements with a combination of Boost and Lightstrike cushioning to set a new precedent for game-ready energy return. The usual mesh upper gets swapped for a new knit upper which helps to keep the foot locked down for agility, without sacrificing comfort.
“My childhood dream was to have my own signature basketball shoe and it’s surreal to be announcing my second sneaker with adidas,” Young said. “Through our partnership we aim to inspire future hoopers to dream big and to stay true to themselves. I hope that others can relate to my journey as an example of what is possible through the game.”
Debuting in “Black/White,” “Blue/White,” “Black/Green,” and “Purple/Black,” the adidas Trae 2 has forefoot branding inspired by the Adilette slide. The new model deliversthe best of both worlds as it combines pinnacle performance function with comfort specs for the post-game cool down.
Young previously stated that he has plans to show off his second signature sneaker in two different colorways during the Hawks preseason games against the Milwaukee Bucks, which takes place in Abu Dhabi on October 6th and 8th.
The adidas Trae 2 releases on November 1, 2022. The retail price is listed at $140. To purchase, visit adidas.com and select retailers. For more sneaker news and release dates, follow @NiceKicks on Twitter.
