Although it seems difficult to imagine considering just how quickly time has marched forward, Stephen Curry is currently playing in his tenth NBA season. Taken seventh overall in the 2009 NBA Draft, the Davidson alum has been a Bay Area legend ever since.
Curry means to Oakland what Jordan meant to Chicago, what Duncan meant to San Antonio, what Kobe meant to the Los Angeles faithful.
Curry’s embrace of the city and its warm embrace of him has been matrimony personified. His Under Armour Curry 6 “Heart of the Town” honors that blossoming union.
“This is who we play for, this is what makes us the most proud about winning championships and bringing banners to the Bay Area,” Curry said in a press release. “Seeing everyone in the streets celebrating after games, we do it for the fans because they are the heartbeat of all that we do.”
The Under Armour Curry 6 “Heart of the Town” lands on UA.com and at select retail partners for $130 USD on January 18. A limited number of pairs will be available beginning January 11 exclusively at the SC30 x Oakland pop up shop located at 472 9th Street in downtown Oakland.
The pop-up is open 12-7pm PT Fridays through Sundays, and when the Warriors play home games.
