After a five-week absence due to injury, Steph Curry made his return to the court last night during Game 2 of the Western Conference Semifinals. Quickly shaking off any signs of rust, Curry sank a few three pointers, dished out a couple of dimes, and grabbed a couple of boards for good measure. His 28 point return featured no visible signs of breakage, as his Warriors topped the visiting Pelicans to go up in the series 2-0.

Game 3 in New Orleans will be pivotal for both teams alike. Yet, Under Armour will make the series shift to Louisiana even more exciting with the launch of their custom-built, real-time mobile trivia game, Steph IQ.

The basketball focused trivia app stands as one of the first mobile experiences tied directly to the on-court performance of an athlete. In this case that athlete being two-time NBA MVP and NBA champion Steph Curry. Steph IQ is uniquely activated in-game when Curry nails a three. At which time the game loads and offers a second-screen gaming experience hosted by basketball personality, impressionist and comedian, Brandon Armstrong, also known as BDot.

Steph IQ challenges fans’ knowledge of Steph’s game and the history of basketball with eight multiple choice questions. A simple wrong answer is grounds for elimination. However, answer all eight questions correctly and you’ll have the chance to split the prize pot including thousands of dollars in Under Armour store credit, eligibility for that day’s raffle of additional prizing, including pairs of the new Under Armour Curry 5 and tickets to see the Golden State Warriors during the NBA Playoffs.

Of course, Steph IQ bears an inherent likeness to the few models that predate it. Nike’s HQ Trivia certainly comes to mind as the premise is generally of a similar volition. Yet Steph IQ is a creation of its own, thanks largely to Curry and Under Armour’s ability to create an app surrounding Steph’s on-court history and signature UA products.

Steph IQ launches this Friday, May 4, in time for Game 3 of the Western Conference Semifinals. You can download it now on App store and Google Play in the U.S. You can also sign up using the code nicekicks.
