Under Armour is the latest brand to join the efforts in combatting Coronavirus pandemic. The brand is poised to utilizing its manufacturing facilities to create supplies for hospitals.
The brand is utilizing its innovation hub Lighthouse in Baltimore to cut masks using an efficient fabric cutting knife which can produce which is capable of carving nearly 100 pieces at once. Cutouts are then passed off to volunteers for folding and distribution to hospitals and other facilities in need.
The brand estimates that it can generate as many as 100,000 masks weekly moving forward. Under Armour has already delivered 1,300 shields and expects to manufacture and distribute more than 500,000 fabric masks.
