Last week, it was reported that Stephen Curry had joined Under Armour. Today, the two parties made it official as Under Armour welcomed the Golden State guard to their hoops roster. Similar to a recent media day photo, Curry is wearing the Anatomix Spawn model in the announcement pic. Curry will lace up that model over the course of the 2013-14 season. In an official press release, Curry had the following to say on the signing:
“I joined the Under Armour family because they share my passion for working hard and taking no shortcuts. From what I’ve seen, they are extremely committed to supporting their athletes on and off the court as well as building the game’s most innovative basketball footwear that will help make my job on the court a little bit easier.”
Aside from on-court support, Curry will appear in a variety of Under Armour campaigns. Under Armour’s Senior VP of Global Brand and Sport Marketing, Matt Mirchin shared his excitement for Steph and the partnership:
“Stephen and Under Armour share the same competitive underdog spirit and family-first attributes that make this new relationship so natural. Stephen and Under Armour will strategically work together to positively impact the next generation of young basketball players everywhere.”
Stay tuned to Kicks On Court to keep up with Stephen Curry’s Under Armour sportings this season.
