Jun Takahashi’s UNDERCOVER had one of the best years in sneakers in 2018 without actually being a sneaker manufacturer. Given the cultural importance of their React Element 87 collaboration coupled with the GYAKUSOU Zoom Fly’s, Takahashi wrapped his thoughtful aesthetics around sneaker design over the course of the last 12 months.
None of this, of course, will change in 2019. With anticipated releases already on the calendar for spring/summer 2019, Takahashi is now showing his fall/winter 2019 collection in Paris, for which an UNDERCOVER x Nike Air Max 720 collaboration has emerged.
Much like the aforementioned React Element 87 release, Takahashi’s take on the upcoming Air Max 720 is colorful and full of vibrancy. Speckled detailing arrives at the style’s midsole while “we make noise not clothes” is tagged along the full-length Air unit.
While all that seems a bit dense and slightly overt, the shoe is softened with ribbon laces in lieu of traditional flat ones. Take a closer look at multiple colorways of the UNDERCOVER Air Max 720s below and stay tuned for additional details.
