When Michael Jordan retired from basketball for the first time, no one initially expected him to take up baseball, something he had always talked about with his father who, at the time, had recently passed. Thus, in honor of his father, Michal hung up his Jordans for a pair of cleats, and Jordan Brand wasn’t really sure where to go next.
Tinker Hatfield persisted, though, creating the Air Jordan 9 to critical success. A new iteration of Michael’s first post-retirement shoe honors his foray into baseball with glove-like construction throughout the leather upper. A white liner and midsole accompanies No. 45 stitched at the heel, MJ’s baseball and basketball comeback number.
Give this upcoming Air Jordan 9 a first look below and stay tuned for a release date.
