Professional surfer Dane Gudauskas connects with Vans for the “Eco Theory” collection featuring the Authentic, Slip-On, and Style 36 silhouettes.

Throughout the series, organic materials are used for each of the offerings. Each iteration is crafted with organic cotton, organic rubber, jute laces, and cork-lined inserts. Other sustainable materials used are water-based inks and glues. First up is the Vans Authentic, which comes in a natural colorway or a checkered pattern. Next in line is the Style 36, covered in a natural base with gum bottoms. Lastly, the Vans Slip-Ons maintain their signature checkered look.

Vans is among other sneaker and sportswear companies seeking ways to become more eco-friendly. Gudauskas stated, “Sustainability has to be at the forefront of Vans for the future. It’s a fantastic moment to own the space and contribute to a more sustainable way of producing.”
