Following collaborations with Rick Owens and Marni, sustainable sneaker brand Veja has now joined forces with beloved retailer Dover Street Market Ginza for a limited-edition range of sneakers made from recycled leather.

This special collaboration came to fruition when Veja asked one of its cobblers, Walter, to create a style using the company’s leather waste for Dover Street Market Ginza, located in Japan. Together, the design team came up with 20 one-of-a-kind pairs. Utilizing Veja’s V-90 silhouette, each pair features design cues inspired by the art of quilting.

The pieces of leather waste, called “tiles”, have been stitched onto the back of the sneakers in a variety of colorful patterns. The V-90, Veja’s latest model, is constructed from O.T. leather sourced from farms in Uruguay and is 100% organically certified. The lining is made from 100% recycled polyester and the laces from 100% organic cotton. Lastly, the sole is made from 40% Amazonian rubber and 10% recycled rubber.

The 20 one-of-a-kind Veja x Dover Street Market Ginza have been made by Veja’s in-house cobbler, Walter, and are being sold exclusively at Dover Street Market Ginza for €250 EUR (approximately $264.79 USD). For more drops, check out our Sneaker Release Dates Calendar.
