With the league’s sponsorship deal with adidas ending last season, this upcoming NBA season marks the first time that players will play in new technologically advanced uniforms from Nike. Wanting to show off all the bells and whistles associated with the jerseys, Nike unveiled the uniforms for all 30 teams in a visually stunning event in Los Angeles in September.
At the uniform unveiling, the Golden State Warriors may have stole the show with their “Statement” jersey which pays homage to Oakland with “The Town” boldly emblazoned above the city’s tree logo on the jersey’s front. The Warriors had All-Star forward Kevin Durant model their “Statement” jersey, a role he truly relished and owned.
