visvim founder Hiroki Nakamura has acquired an affinity for Native American culture over the years, adopting traditional clothing and footwear styles into his own collections, while merging their designs with performance geared technology that’s reminiscent of his days working for Burton.
The visvim Maliseet Shaman sneaker is a direct reflection of combining both of these notions.
Borrowing inspiration from customary moccasins worn by Native American tribes, the silhouette incorporates a vegetable tanned suede application throughout the upper with beaded embellishments across the vamp. A fringed design lines the heel collar, while a Vibram midsole enhances comfort and traction when navigating about the concrete jungle.
While the silhouette on its own looks challenging to wear, try pairing it with other Japanese essentials like distressed selvedge jeans, a white tee, and an indigo jacket with sashiko embroidery for a unique twist on streetwear classics.
The visvim Maliseet Shaman sneakers are now available at select retailers like MR. PORTER.
