Sheck Wes just dropped MUDBOY, so for this week’s feature of What’s In Their Wardrobe, we thought we’d select someone who exhibits ballin’ on the fashion front just as well as they do in the recording studio.
For anyone, who has a wild footwear game and likes sporting the vibrant silhouettes, Sheck Wes is an ideal example for just how to pull off something that sounds this impossible.
Sheck is not only one of those individuals who’s always in the know about subjects in fashion and footwear, but he actually makes it unbelievably simple. So simple in fact, that it’s likely you might’ve missed some of these easy wardrobe and footwear pairings. And aside from excelling at rapping, basketball, fashion, and footwear, he’s also modeled in several major campaigns on top of that, so it might make sense that he’s plugged in when it comes to what’s coming next in these realms.
Sheck Jesus Shuttleworth
If you didn’t already know, Sheck Wes was recently in a pretty major Jordan campaign that highlights his impressive abilities to also play basketball on top of making music. Throughout the video, he’s repping the “He Got Game” colorway of the Air Jordan 13. What’s more is the campaign, didn’t look forced at all, as Sheck is a major Jordan connoisseur and has ties to get all the exclusive iterations that friends, like Travis Scott are distributing to.
Not only does Sheck wear a wide variety of Jordans, but he’s also wearing the loudest colorways out there and making it simple. How though? He’s wearing them with outrageously simple basics like sweatshirts and jeans, shiny jackets and pants, and even just a pair of shorts in a t-shirt. One way to freshen up the look just a bit as Sheck does is to incorporate pieces with a graphic or obvious logo on them to align with the popularity of the trend in streetwear. Another hack in Sheck’s playbook is playing with proportion – slightly oversized, longer sleeves, and looser fitting pants.
Live Like Sheck Wes
Sheck isn’t afraid to go out on a limb when it comes to style. When he’s wearing simpler footwear offerings, he usually takes the reverse approach of his simplistic strategy when he’s wearing louder sneakers by layering a series of wild prints with vibrant hues. And it’s done in a way where it’s just enough to grab another’s attention without throwing them into a world of confusion. This is one of his classic strategies for Air Force 1s, Air Max 98s, and even SUICOKE slides.
What’s cool about Sheck’s style is that he doesn’t just incorporate vibrant colors and exotic proportion into the mix. He’s also experimenting with unconventional fabrics and patterns. Sometimes he’s wearing oversized Carhartt workwear jackets or overalls and some days, it might be a pair of yellow slides with a long sleeve button-up shirt with a vivid flower motif like his appearance in the John Elliott show.
