In addition to the previously mentioned ‘Closet Appeal’ category, Young did the most damage in the ‘Variety’ section. Although he’s signed to Nike, Nick Young played in almost every basketball sector of the Swoosh. From Pennys, to Kobes, to LeBrons, to Huaraches and even Dennis Rodmans, Young laced up in an extremely wide variety of signatures. However, Young still has his favorites. “I’d probably say, style-wise, the Pennys because it’s nothing like those,” stated Young. “For just hooping, I like the Kobes more than anything. I also like the old LeBrons more than the new ones because they are lighter in my opinion.”

Young told us that he prides himself on bringing a variety to the game, and he feels that’s what sets him apart from others. This is what Nick had to say about some of the other nominees’ lack of variety:

“A lot of them kept wearing the same shoes throughout the season. You have to be able to switch it up. Everybody kept wearing Jordans, and everybody wore similar Jordans. They didn’t switch it up enough. I tried to go outside of the box some games.”
