With “Court Purple” and “Metallic Purple” Air Jordan 1s expected later this year, it appears very apparent Jordan Brand is focused on the royal hue for the latter part of 2018. That, in theory, could explain this Air Jordan 6 we’re loosing calling the “Purple Rain.”

Previewed by Frank Cooke, Jordan Brand NRG Designer, who’s famously debuted upcoming releases and one-off samples, it’s unclear where this particular pair falls on that scale. Yet shortly after the shoe began to circulate it quickly became clear that Air Jordan 6 purists and general fans alike would clamor over a release.

Similar to the “Gatorade” Air Jordan 6 — although not to be confused with the “Like Mike” 6s — smooth suede adorns the iconic design while tonal representation lines the midsole above a translucent outer.

Cooke, in previewing the shoe, did not confirm nor deny a potential release. The hope, of course, is that a release is in the near future. Stay tuned.
