Although the World Basketball Festival’s events have been scattered at numerous locations around D.C., the Armory Center was undoubtedly the place to be yesterday. Last night, the previously mentioned convention center was home to a couple of championship basketball games (more on that later), a landing spot for some of the most recognizable college coaches in the nation, and most of all, the Regional Nike+ Basketball Dunk Showcase. With LeBron James, Diana Taurasi, Bobbito Garcia and Nike’s latest signee Anthony Davis on hand to judge, the contestants tried their best to impress with a slew of creative dunks, which included some completed throw downs and some awesome-yet-failed attempts. Ultimately, Justin “Jus Fly” Darlington, a native of Ontario, Canada, was crowned the champion after an emphatic final dunk with a vertical jump of 43 inches. Take a look at our full recap of last night’s dunk contest, including a short video of Darlington’s winning dunk.
