| Most collabs entitle a brand or shop to splash some obscure colors together on a shoe, but when WTaps and Vans sat down for the next part of the Vans Syndicate series an entirely new model came as a result. The two created the Bash – the first two letters from the words “basketball shoe”. Before you cool kids start writing this shoe off as a Jordan 3 bite, consider this bit of history.
The WTAPS x Vans Syndicate Bash pays homage to the days of skating in basketball shoes. Boarders had a very limited selection of sneakers to choose from in the late 80’s with only a few brands pumping out sneakers fit for the grip tape and none of them with a mid top cut. While the Jordan 3 was quickly adopted by ballers for its revolutionary mid top cut, skateboarders quickly took notice as well. The shoes come in three colors and feature aestetic interests such as a vented toe box, leather perforations, and a quilted side panel.
