Japanese streetwear label WTAPS and its founder Tetsu Nishiyama are the latest collaborators tapped by New Balance. The parties have joined forces on an upcoming reworked 992 silhouette.
Dubbed the WTAPS x New Balance 992 the forthcoming collaborative sneaker is decked out in hues of olive, covering its mix-textile upper crafted from premium mesh and suede. Continuing with WTAPS’s signature military aesthetics, the pair boasts hits of grey on the heel, collar and toe box, while an orange accent elevates the Absorb-equipped midsole. Final details include the “WTAPS” branding on the tongue, heel, and insole.
Interested readers can look for the WTAPS x New Balance 992 to release on May 2 at select retailers in Japan as well as WTAPS’ online store. The pair will retail for ¥39,600 (approximately $369 USD).
